For more than two decades, The University of Queensland science students have travelled to K'gari (Fraser Island) to learn the fundamentals of field ecology. Students learn how to survey vegetation, read a landscape, and understand the relationships between plants and animals. Since 2019, that fieldwork has been shaped by a growing relationship with the Butchulla Aboriginal Corporation - BAC and K’gari Cultural Tour (KCT) that is changing not just what students learn, but how they learn it.
